Hello.
Well, war is going on, and it’s affecting each and every person on Earth. It’s an obvious fact that there are no more local wars. There are only world wars happening right now because we are so interconnected, and our actions on one end of the world will affect the other end in no time, mainly because of globalization.
As you must have heard in the news, because of the US/Israel against Iran war, the prices of oil have skyrocketed. I heard from the news that because in the Strait of Hormuz fertilizers and oil are stuck, the prices of groceries will also rise a lot.
This brings a huge concern for investors as well.
Now, when you invest, you should have a goal of building your portfolio and not for short-term profits. Right now, the markets are going bonkers. It’s crashing, and it’s completely in a bear market—the European as well as Indian markets.
If you have been following my posts, I have always talked about investing no matter what the state of the markets. You have to keep believing in yourself, keep believing in this world, and save some for yourself as an emergency fund. Ensure you have enough fluid cash to help you in times of emergency.
Have proper asset allocation—equity versus debt versus gold—depending on your age and current financial situation. And then invest regardless of what goes on in the world, because one day the markets are going to come back up.
At that point, you will see the effectiveness of investing consistently.
If you do not invest right now, if you stop investing, you will lose on the opportunity side of the markets.
So my two cents is this: it is OK to be afraid. It is OK to have doubt in your mind. But keep investing, no matter how small it is. It is worth it.
