3. Website Data
When you visit the website, hosting providers and security systems may process standard technical data such as IP address, browser user agent, requested URL, referrer, timestamps, and error logs. This is used to operate, secure, and improve the website.
The site records first-party page visit and software download counts in The Radical Monk's database so the owner can understand which pages and tools are being used. The counter stores the requested page or download path and aggregate counts. To avoid counting quick refreshes or repeated download attempts too aggressively, it also keeps a temporary anonymous server-side guard hash for about 30 minutes. It does not set a visit cookie, store raw IP addresses for this counter, or use third-party analytics. A separate owner/developer opt-out page can set a first-party browser flag named trm_analytics_opt_out so maintenance visits are not counted.
4. Product-Specific Privacy Details
Each product may collect different data depending on what the product does, whether it uses checkout, licensing, newsletter signup, analytics, or support forms. Read the privacy notice linked from the relevant product page before using that product, purchasing, subscribing, or submitting personal data.
5. Financial Wisdom Comments
When you comment on a Financial Wisdom post, the comment, posting date, and display identity you choose are stored and shown publicly. You may post as Anonymous or provide a first and last name. Standard server security logs and short-lived rate-limit records may process technical information such as an IP address to prevent abuse, but this information is not displayed with comments.
A random deletion key is stored in your browser so you can delete a comment posted from that browser. Do not include contact details or sensitive personal information in a comment. For additional removal help, contact contact@theradicalmonk.com and identify the post and comment.
6. YourChoice Public Opinions
YourChoice remembers a country you choose in this browser using trm-yourchoice-country. Without a saved choice, it requests an approximate country from ipapi.co, which receives your IP address and standard connection information. The lookup does not include your opinion, tags or selected party. Unsupported countries and lookup failures use the first available country alphabetically. You can always choose a different country.
For YourChoice, public opinions are shown without a name or email address. The public opinion record stores the selected country and choice, reason/comment, anonymous display ID, optional tags, moderation status, review year, and submission time.
To protect credibility, rankings count only the first valid support entry per private technical identity, country, and review year. Later comments may be shown publicly if they pass moderation, but they do not add another ranking entry. To prevent spam, duplicate submissions, repeated reactions, and suspicious rapid activity, YourChoice also uses private technical anti-abuse keys derived from connection/browser details. Raw IP addresses, names, and emails are not shown with public opinions.
7. Retention
Personal data is retained only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, to provide support, to maintain legal records, or to meet Dutch tax and accounting obligations. Product-specific retention details are included in the relevant product privacy notice where applicable.
8. Your Rights
Under GDPR/AVG, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, export, or object to processing of your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact contact@theradicalmonk.com with the subject line "Privacy Request".
You may also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority, Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
9. Security
The Radical Monk uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure.
